SWIM

In 2009, four states—South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana—formed a formal partnership called SWIM to address library education needs in the region. The SWIM Regional Collaborative Library Education Project was funded through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program. During 2010 – 2012, SWIM provided scholarships to residents of the 4-state region: 69 for individuals to earn a Master’s degree from the College of Information at the University of North Texas and 14 for individuals to earn school library media endorsements from universities in Montana and South Dakota. The project ended in June 2013.
